6 Months Old

It was 6 months ago today that wilshire|one was born. I don’t know exactly why or how it came to be, but here we are. As best I can remember, I first stumbled on sites such as mezzoblue and 456 Berea Street and started learning about web standards. I jumped from site to site and continued to learn. I began to take notice of little footer links and colophons touting each site’s content management/blogging system and soon found my way to Textpattern.

I downloaded, installed and began playing. I honestly never even tried anything else because I couldn’t imagine something being easier to use than Textpattern. I was converting my first site to Textpattern within days of my first download of the gamma 1.19 version. As I continued to convert sites I began to see the power of the plugin framework and it seemed that I came up with a new plugin for each site I developed.

Now, 6 months, many sites and many plugins later, I’d say Textpattern is here to stay. And this site has turned into a medium for me to share all of the plugins and tricks I’ve come up with along with way among other things.

So thanks to all of you who have stopped by and I hope you’ll continue to stop by. By the looks of the baby pictures, wilshire|one is all grows up now. More than I ever thought it would in fact.

I must say, you’re probably the best plugin coder for TXP, second perhaps only to zem.

Congrats on the half-birthday and the many plugins.

About that graph—is that average kb per day? Nice optimization!

Oh, and one little tip: in comments.php, you might want to add a space before “remember” and “forget” on lines 205 and 206:
?checkbox('forget',1,0).gTxt(' Forget')
:checkbox('remember',1,1).gTxt(' Remember');

Note the space before the capitalized words. If the space is there, gtxt won’t capitalize it.

All the above is to fix the non-existant space between the checkbox and the word “forget” or “remember.”

happy half-birthday wilshire|one/leafy. o_o

‘glad you’re here.

those stats are impressive.. but what with the indispensible (how did we do without them before?) rss_plugins and the recent green glory, it’s little wonder. :)

Thanks Hans and Ali. Much appreciated. And thanks for the tip Hans.

I guess I should have explained the graph. Those are unique page views per month. The k is thousands, not kb :)

Congrats from me too, and thanks for the plugin work! I absolutely love suparchive and Quikpik, they are absolute must-haves.

PS: Regarding the checkboxes/labels see this Forum Topic
