Three Floyds Alpha King Pale Ale
Good things come in three’s right? So here’s my third post of the day which happens to be about my latest find from Three Floyds Brewing Company, Alpha King Pale Ale.
Once again I was at my local Acme Market in Montrose (which has the most amazing beer selection on earth) looking for a new frosty beverage. Since pale ales are my favorite type of beer, I was browsing through that section looking for something interesting. A wacky 6 pack design, which looked similar to the label above immediately caught my eye. Job well done Three Floyds marketing department! Funny, for some reason I just pictured a bunch of hippies sitting around a computer with a hookah. But anyway…
I got my new find home, opened one up and was more than pleasantly surprised. The label describes the brew as “A classic American Pale Ale with a bold citrus hop character.” This is a pretty accurate description and really needs no further explantation. You get the usual hoppiness of a nice pale ale partnered with a crisp citrus kick. The ale goes down nice and easy. A little too easy actually but I’m not complaining.
And you don’t even have to take my word for it. The list of awards speaks for itself. So if you’re a pale ale fan, do yourself a favor and pick up a 6 pack. And speaking of good things coming in three’s, time to hit the fridge again…
