Textpattern QuikPik 2.5

UPDATE May 8, 2005: QuikPik 2.5 will no longer be supported. You can find the same functionality in the newer rss_admin_quikpik plugin.

Based on some suggestions received on this site and the Textpattern Forums I’ve slowly incorporated some updates into the QuikPik hack for the Textpattern admin interface over the past few weeks. Since I haven’t officially announced these updates in one place, here are the additions that I can remember since the official QuikPik 2.0 release.

  • Added the display of Textpattern notifications to the menu next to the site name.
  • Added proper security privilege checks to all menus.
  • Added shortcuts to the Articles menu for adding a new article, viewing all articles and viewing the current user’s articles.
  • Added a shortcut to the Styles menu for adding a new style.
  • Added a shortcut to the Pages menu for viewing all pages.
  • Added a shortcut to the Forms menu for adding a new style.
  • Added the View Site option to the QuikPik menu.

Keep those suggestions coming in.

Rob,

Here is a code fragment contribution. This is for line 177. I added a link around the site name that makes it a link that opens in a new window, and I set your url to do the same. Lastly, I updated the version number from 2.0 to 2.5.

Hope this helps the effort.

Rob,
I installed the 2.5 It looks great. However, I get a long list of lines above the TXP interface indicating some invalid calls in lines 107, 235 and 383…
How can I resolve this?

Its hard to say without some more info. Have you made any other mods to the file on your own or tried to integrate any other hacks? And what version of TXP are you running.

If you’d like, you can send in the errors you’re seeing on the contact form.

I was running the TxP on a local server using EasyPHP 1.7. No mods or hacks were made.
However, a fresh install yesterday with XAMPP removed all the problems and the mod now runs like butter. :)
Thanks and have a Happy New Year!

Ashish
