Who are you and what are you doing here?

After giving the site a sorely needed make over earlier in the week, its time to pay some attention to the content.

So help me out by letting me know who you are and why you’ve ended up here. And what would you like to see at wilshire|one in the future?

“Hi, my name is Robert, and I’m a Textpattern addict.”

So there’s two reasons why I come here: To get my fix of plugins, and to learn from your Textpattern knowledge.

3. June 2007

My name is Guillaume Stricher.
I first came here because of your great Txp plugins & tutorials… That was a while ago, when your site was still brown, three years back in time…Then your site turned green and later we did a txp transatlantic cooperation… Since you are among the few people on the web and in the Txp community I had the chance to approach a little closer, I come back here to know how you doin’... Maybie someday you could add a picture of yourself, so if I cross you in the street someday I could say” Hi Rob, how you doin’...” For real.

3. June 2007

Rob,
I’d love to read more about the ways you’ve managed to work out some of the concepts for your plugins, thoughts on freelancing/business, working with clients, and dealing with weirdos like Robert Wetzlmayr ;)

ps. Fantastic work on the redesign. Blue and brown are such a sweet combo.

4. June 2007

Thanks to my 3 loyal readers ;)

I guess I’ll keep the Textpattern goodies coming.

And if you want to know how to spot me walking down the street Guillaume, you can fine me here.

I knew that one… By the way your new design is fresh and clean and has a subtle color palette… I digg your new favicon as well.
Take care.

Another Textpattern addict. I love the tutorials and plugins. I’m keenly awaiting the shopping cart you mentioned in Textpattern Solutions.

Any clues yet as to when it’s release will be?

6. June 2007

I couldn’t function without most of your plugins. I’m always checking in because I too can’t wait for you to release the shopping cart plugin.

10. June 2007

Hello, I’m just finding your blog for the first time while browsing around looking for Textpattern stuff. So obviously, I’d love to see you write about nifty Textpattern things, but I myself write about online communications, innovation, and other technology topics, and I’m always interested in reading about those from others.

Best,

Checking in for some updates today and bam it’s all gone blue. Niiice.

As for me: another TXP addict I’m afraid, and follower of your excellent work.

BTW, is it healthy attracting all these addicts here? Maybe you should consider opening txpanonymous.com so we can all hang out somewhere in a controlled environment with soft lighting, inoffensive music and daily “be well” seminars/chants…

14. June 2007

Gotta say I come here mostly for the Txp related stuff. Plus, Nathan Smith told me to come here.

I decided I wanted to build my own website. I’m not a developer or programmer, so I looked around to see what free software was available. It came down to Wordpress and Textpattern. I chose Textpattern based on a review that said it was easier for non-technical people to get going. I needed a theme for my site and I really liked the look of White and Wild—clean, simple and attractive. It gives me a chance to play with content and have something that looks good. I can see that I’m going to have to get a site built by someone else eventually as I don’t have the interest or skills to do it myself, and my requirements are quite significant. FYI I’ve come across a Textpattern writer who I was impressed by: wion.com. Sorry bout the ramble.

cheers

Hi Rob.
I think We come accross your website, because we all want to know more about textpattern and as long as people share their knowledge, TXP will rise.

Since I have discovered this cms, i managed to create about 3-4 websites powered by txp. To do that i had to learn many new skills. Few days ago i even set up my own txp website where i can share my knowledge with others.

I think we just all passion about textpattern.

16. August 2007

I was going through my Design bookmarks, looking for inspiration for a project. wilshire|one had been bookmarked when I was fiddling with TXP. I’ve since switched mostly to WordPress, but am still impressed with a bunch of TXP sites. Your comments layout is very nice. It’s great to see something a little different for a change.

Wow, this post is a dejavu. i just posted on paulstamatiou.com on a post similar to this one (invites visitors to comment)

I use wordpress on several blogs i run. Before wordpress i played around with textpattern, its very nice.

Now i know what Textpattern is capable of doing, and has a better perfomance than wordpress etc.

I like learning new things and i amm open to possibilities. This is my first visit and came here through SonSpring>Textpattern Solutions.

30. September 2007

Just bought the Textpattern Solutions Book about 3 weeks ago and learning the ins and outs of TXP. Love seeing some of the new sites and the various ways of using TXP. Currently working on my first TXP site.

A huge, huge thanks for all your incredible plugins. Keep up the great work.

I just downloaded rss_admin_show_adv_opts which will save some days of my lifetime. I also want to say thank you for your book which has already saved some days of my lifetime.

Keep up the brilliant and useful work for this brilliant and useful cms.

Very nice looking site! I’ve come here for ideas on how to improve my blog, Wandering Italy. I followed a link to the rss google map plug in. I’ve used lots of blogging software, but for me, I’m a writer, and textpattern just makes it so easy to let the words flow. Plus it’s easy to upgrade.

Hi Rob,

I use many of the Textpattern plugins you created, and I believe that they are the primary reason for my visits to your website.
In addition, I enjoy the great tutorials you offer here and I love to just come and appreciate the impeccable design of your website.

Thank you so much for taking your time to create these wonderful tools to improve and extend our use of Textpattern!

Hey all, I am new to textpattern, and I think that it is pretty cool. Though I don’t have that much experience, I like it a lot, nice job to those who made it!

Nathans’ site brought me to yours. Impressive work done by all of you. Hopefully there will soon be a port to windows that many of us who jumped on the “free website” boat last year with microsoft will be able to use. maybe i’m slow and speaking out of turn but i feel pretty trapped by officelive.
