Introducing Textpattern Solutions, the first book published on Textpattern.
I had the privilege of co-authoring this book with several well known and well respected members of the Textpattern community including Nathan Smith, Kevin Potts, Cody Lindley and Mary Fredborg.
You can check out the official book site or the friends of ED site for more details. But I can tell you without a doubt this is the most comprehensive guide to Textpattern you’ll find.
If you head of to the friends of ED site, you can also download a sample chapter from the book. The sample chapter currently available is a detailed guide to Writing Textpattern Plugins that I authored.
The book starts with the very basics as you learn about downloading Textpattern and building simple site. It will take you through the entire admin interface and teach you how to use Textpattern to build several different types of websites. It also covers more advanced topics like custom fields and plugins.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about Textpattern, Textpattern Solutions will certainly help whether you’re a Textpattern beginner or power user.

I ordered my copy early and got it a few days ago. So far, so very good. :) For those not quite ready to spout off the TxP source code while blindfolded it’s definitely more than worth the $$$. For the others, it makes a great reference.

The Txp FAQs and forums and a few good articles (particularly Destry Wion’s) can get you started using Txp, but your book is the guide that is needed to use Txp well and efficiently. It is clearly written, comprehensive, and totally satisfying. Many thanks to you all for doing such a great job!

Saw a copy in B&N yesterday and picked up a copy. Didn’t see this blog post so I was very pleasantly surprised to see a TXP book on the selves! Congrats :)

Hi there, great book which I have so far enjoyed reading since christmas.
I was really interested in the shopping cart plugin for textpattern and came here to look for it.
Was it never completed since the book?
