The Textpattern Plugin Installer
Most of the Textpattern plugins that I have released were originally written based on a need I had when developing a site. As I continue to develop sites, I continue to install and use the same plugins. So every time I setup a new Textpattern installation, I find myself installing anywhere from 6 to 10 of my plugins. While installing plugins is not a difficult process, repeating a simple 30 second process adds up over time.
Aside from the time it takes to install and activate each plugin, I found myself constantly downloading the same plugins over and over so that I had the most recent version. Not to mention going back to sites in order to upgrade their plugins to the most recent version. So I finally set out to find a way to make this process run more smoothly. The result of that is the new rss_pluginstaller plugin.
A Plugin that Installs Plugins
The PlugInstaller is a new way to install and update all of the Textpattern plugins available here at wilshire|one. Once you install the plugin, a new PlugInstaller tab will be available under the Extensions menu. A screenshot of the tab is below.
The beauty of the plugin is that once you download and install it, you will never have to download another wilshire|one plugin again! All plugins can be downloaded and installed or updated right inside your Textpattern installation. The plugin will also notify you when new versions of plugins have been released.

It’s very nice! Good work! Pity that this plugin installer its not connected to the all plugins on textpattern.org but I understand that :)
