Textpattern + E-commerce Part 2

It’s time to share one of the reasons for the lack of posting around here lately. I am happy to announce the launch of Popular Wedding Favors, another e-commerce site built with Textpattern.

This time around, I collaborated with Claudia and Brian of Mestolando fame. Claudia is an amazingly talented artist who illustrated and designed the entire site. Brian has a great eye for information architecture and helped to get the finer details of the design in place. I was responsible for developing the HTML, CSS and Textpattern setup for the site.

The Popular Wedding Favors site came together pretty quickly once we got down to work and (if I may say so myself) it came out looking great.

There is a looming update to the rss_unlimited_categories plugin with a slew of new features I added while developing the site. But to answer the next question, no, the shopping cart is not available as a plugin (yet). There’s still too much custom coding that would have to be generalized but its definitely closer.

Now if you or someone you know is getting married, go get yourself some wedding favors.

Getting a blank page for this site. Someting may be awry…

Looks promising though. Email me about TXP wine eCommerce if you have an open schedule?

Well done Rob. All of you. It looks hot, and it runs smooth. Well done.

Excellent site as usual.

I’m patiently waiting for the shopping cart plugin. I’ll gladly donate when it’s available.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks folks. I’ve been on vacation for the past week. We left about 4 hours after I launched the site so I was hoping there wouldn’t be problems. Are you able to see the site now Dale? The traffic has been pretty steady throughout the week. All of the good looks can be attributed to Claudia's great work and Brian's eye for detail.

Dale and Terry- My schedule is pretty booked through the summer already. I have a bunch of projects lined up so I won’t have time to take on anything else. Part of that time will still be spent working on Textpattern plugins.

The shopping cart plugin is still taking shape but the rss_unlimited_categories plugin updates should be done soon. The shopping cart however, has been customized for each of the site’s I’ve built with it. There is still a good amount of work to do in order to make it flexible enough to be a full plugin.

hi – any news on the shopping cart plugin? This would be just the ticket at the moment – I love the way paypal integrates on the wedding site…

Hi,

Has the shopping cart plugin project died?
