Unlimited Categories 0.3

With some people still having problem using the clean URL feature of the plugin, I added support for messy category URLs. Alex over at TXP Magazine was kind enough to test it out and confirm that it works. Just use the new usemessy attribute on the “filed under” and “cloud” tags.

Head on over to the rss_unlimited_categories page to download the latest version.

This one is really useful. Two categories is not enough.

Thank you!

This is great! Thank you so much.

Any plans on adding “sortby” and “sortdir” attributes to the following tags?
rss_unlimited_categories_article_list
rss_unlimited_categories_related

I’d like the ability to use a custom field for sorting. Adding this functionality would make this plugin perfect.

It’s working great now. But for some reaseon the category box in Admin is not showing in IE6/7.

Thank. I’m so glad those blasted 404 errors are gone!

I’m assuming that rss_suparchive_bycat won’t work without some modification, right?

Jerry, I’m using both plugins now so I’m not aware of anything that would cause them not to work together.

hmmm…I can’t get it to list the categories, and I assumed that the rss_suparchive_bycat function in rss_suparchive was querying the old textpattern category fields category1 and category2?

3. May 2006

Yes, that’s true. You’ll want to use the rss_unlimited_categories_list tag to list the categories.

I think I tried that. Maybe I’m just missing an eay solution here…

I was looking to output something like this with ability to limit the categories included:

Category1-
Article Title

Category2 –
Article Title

Category3 –
Article Title
Article Title
Article Title
Article Title

Does that make sense?

And thanks for the help!

hi Jerry.. any luck with that format? that’s what I’m after too…

This plugin looks like it is exactly what I need. One request though, it would be great to see this plugin also work for image and file categories.

No luck. Here, on the right side, is where I was trying to do it, but I had to set up each category’s list manually. Fortunately, I don’t have too many categories.

Hmmm… I’m using messy URL’s right now and I put in the attribute “usemessy=1”... but since all of my articles are under the “article” section, the URL still calls for partial clean URLS:

http://www.bananabu.com/article/?c=category

any suggestions?
