Making del.icio.us Tastier

After starting up my account at del.icio.us about a year ago, a day rarely goes by that I don’t post new links to my account. And almost as frequently I try to find something that I remember tagging in my account.

Until recently, I was using an adaptation of Jon Hicks’ how to skin del.icio.us with Safari and PithHelmet that was created for Firefox. That link is gone otherwise I’d send you there.

When my Firefox nightly build recently went haywire and I lost my custom stylesheet I was back to the basic del.icio.us look and feel. That is until I found del.icio.us direc.tor.

According to its creator Johnvey Hwang, “del.icio.us direc.tor is a prototype for an alternative web-based rich UI for del.icio.us.” And despite the drastic changes it makes to the del.icio.us UI, it relatively simple to use. Just save the bookmarklet and load up your del.icio.us page. Once loaded, click the bookmarklet and watch the magic happen.

Once you get used to the change, del.icio.us direc.tor provides a nice alternative interface to help you dig through your bookmarks.
